Introduction

Hi, I am Ruth Bowman, site creator, married mother of 5 children and a Catholic who loves the outdoors. I grew up very outdoorsy from a large family, know basic wilderness and survival skills, and had training in first aid, EMT, CPR, climbing and forestry medic skills in my youth. I created this site to reach fellow catholic families who yearn for community with others who share their values and who will be good for their family but find it difficult to find those social opportunities. America is not a Catholic country and our society and it's values are not Catholic. Humans are social creatures and it's a "natural" instinct to abandon things that make you a social outcast and reject from society because social acceptance and cooperation equals survival in our subconscious. This is difficult, since our families are being raised in a time and world in which virtue, discipline and christian traditions and beliefs are rejected and mocked on a societal scale. We need that support and community for our families during their formative years and beyond. This community is often lacking in the U.S. especially in areas where catholics are the minority. This is why I've created this site. We are striving to create a catholic cultural community for our homeschool families, similar to the early church where we are all family in christ, living out our faith together. One that revolves around our social needs and supporting one another in christian fellowship. A community in which we are surrounded by a culture of seeking perfection in all ways and striving for a true love of God and service to others. A culture and community in which we can flourish and thrive, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically.
